Tryout Registration must be completed by May 15th to be eligible for selection to a summer All-Star baseball team. Fees will be collected BEFORE tryouts. Refunds will be issued if we are unable to accommodate all tryout participants.

 

All interested Cohasset baseball players ages 8 – 12 should register. That means any player at the NL8, AL and ML level is eligible for Cohasset Summer All-Star baseball.

 

 

Tryouts will be held at the Barnes Complex on Friday May 16th. Please arrive at 4:30PM to register and tryouts will begin at 5:00PM.

 

Summer All-Star team construction is much different than the spring. In the spring, every player is guaranteed a team. In the summer program, CYBSA’s primary goal is to find a team for every interested player. However, given registration numbers, this is not always possible. The Summer All-Star teams require a higher degree of commitment and coaches place a greater emphasis on winning (relative to the spring). To that end, playing time can be uneven.  By signing up for Summer All-Stars, you agree to that understanding.    

Our summer All-Star teams, specifically our 9U, 10U and 11U age groups, are selected by a combination of the following:

The summer season runs from roughly late June to the end of July / early August. It is very important that players are available for most if not all games, especially at the 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U levels. In our registration form, we ask that you provide the dates you are on vacation this summer to understand overlap with the summer schedule. This is meant to ensure that we can construct teams that consistently field full rosters of available players. Please be upfront with vacation plans so we can build rosters appropriately. 

 

In addition, our 9U – 12U teams will be competing in the Sandwich Summer Beach Blast Tournament – which as the name implies, is an absolute BLAST. This will require a weekend stay in Cape Cod. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: When former Cohasset All-Star, and current MLB player for the New York Yankees, Ben Rice was asked about his favorite baseball memory growing up, he said it was playing with his buddies in the Sandwich Summer Beach blast tournament. His Cohasset All Star team was runner-up in the 2012 tournament!
