Cardinals Win 2008 Major League Championship

The Cardinals won the 2008 Major League championship by defeating the Pirates in a tight 3 game series. They took the third and deciding game 13-11 on June 25th, with Tim Cavanaro being the hero, belting a three-run first inning home run to give the Cardinals a lead they would not relinquish and coming on to the mound in the sixth inning to close out a furious and gutsy Pirate comeback.
