Cohasset Youth Baseball & Softball Registration
The Cohasset Youth Baseball and Softball Association will hold its annual registration for the upcoming baseball and softball season beginning December 1, 2009 through March 1, 2010.
Registration Due Dates and Fees
Regular Registration will close on March 1, 2010. Registrations that are completed after March 1, 2010 will be charged a $50 per player late registration fee and late registrants will only be placed on a team if space permits, on a first come-first serve basis. The late fee will be strictly enforced, and there is no guarantee that late registered players will be accommodated, as uniform orders and other season plans will be made on March 1st.
Your cooperation in registering players in a timely manner is greatly appreciated, as it allows the CYBSA to establish rosters and order uniforms so that we are ready for opening day.
Registration Age Group and Cutoff Dates
- The registration is for Baseball participants aged 5 to 14 as of April 30, 2010
- The registration is for Softball participants aged 5 to 14 as of December 31, 2009.
A copy of the child's birth certificate must accompany a new player's registration forms. Copies of birth certificates should be mailed to: CYBSA, PO Box 121, Cohasset MA 02025
Registration Fees
Below is the registration fee for Baseball and Softball programs:
- Junior League Baseball and Softball (ages 13 to 14) $150.
- Major League Baseball (ages 10 to 12) and Softball Divisions (ages 10 and 12) $150.
- American League Baseball (ages 9-11) and Softball (ages 9-10) $125.
- National League Baseball (ages 6-8) and Softball (ages 7-8) $100.
- Farm League Instructional Baseball (ages 5-6) and Instructional Softball (ages 5-6) $75.
Note: There is a Family Maximum charge of $275 per family. All online registrations will be processed at full-fee. If your total fees exceed $275, you will be issued a check for the difference within 30 days of registration.
Please be advised that returning players already assigned to Major League teams are still required to register.
Please note that boys and girls who are 6 years old, but who played in the farm league last year are eligible to play in the National League Division this year. Please contact Erik Golz at (781) 383-1597, or via email at egolz@comcast.net if you have questions about player eligibility.
Child Safe Program
Please be advised that the child protection program instituted by Little League governing organization requires that all adults interested in coaching, managing or volunteering in any way, are required to register at this same time and supply a photocopy of a government issued identification. Individuals not complying with this requirement will not be allowed to participate in the CYBSA program.
Becoming a Member of the CYBSA
We encourage all parents/guardians to become a Regular Member of the CYBSA, which allows you to vote at the Annual Membership Meeting. To become a Regular Member, simply check "yes" in the Regular Member box during online registration.
