AGE/LEAGUE REGISTRATION GUIDE
We often get questions regarding which league you should register your son or daughter.
Unlike some other youth sports programs, for baseball the CYBSA is an "age" based program, as opposed to "grade" base. We hope the following guide to Little League age requirements is helpful to you.
BASEBALL :
LEAGUE: AGE BY OR ON 4/30/12: AGES:
Farm No younger than 5, no older than 6 5-6
National League No younger than 6, no older than 8 6-8
American League No younger than 9, no older than 11 9-11
Major League* No younger than 10, no older than 12 10-12
Junior League No younger than 13, no older than 14 13-14
(*Players try out and are selected for the Major League)
While our softball program has general age guidelines, we do break up our teams based on grades. Please see the guide below.
SOFTBALL:
LEAGUE: AGE BY OR ON 12/31/12 Grades
Instructional League No younger than 5, no older than 7 K-2
D2 No younger than 7, no older than 8 3-4
D3 No younger than 9, no older than 10 5-6
D4 No younger than 10, no older than 12 7-8
Junior No younger than 13, no older than 14 8-9
(NOTE: WE WILL ONLY BE OFFERING A JUNIOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL PROGRAM IF WE HAVE ENOUGH INTEREST TO FORM 1-2 TEAMS)
